SanDisk Introduces 512GB SD Card, With Write Speeds Up 90MB/s


Tuesday, September 16, 2014 SanDisk broke their own record of present storage place of 128GB by launching the Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I, a 512 GB SD card for $799. The highest ever seen storage space on a SD card is now available with 1,000-fold capacit
y increase at the same size footprint.

The company claims that this SD Card is capable of utilising burst-mode shooting of any DSLR while complying with Super-Fast UHS Speed Class 3 standard. The main purpose of launching 512 GB card is to allow photographers to store videos shot in HD and images of the largest possible resolution without running out of space. This makes it capable of storing almost 800 music albums in MP3 format or more than 150 movies in a compact storage. They even confirmed that they will launch a 2 TB SD card by 2020.

The new SanDisk chip will allow you to carry huge amount of data in your pocket or wallet. It even ensures to deliver write speeds of up to 90 MB/s and is rated under UHS Speed Class 3 (U3). The transfer speeds up could range up to 95 MB/s.

The exclusive SanDisk SD Card is shockproof, x-ray proof and waterproof. The fact that this SD Card is the only of its kind, allows the manufacturers to tag it high. It is available for $799. The SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I will also be available with 128 GB and 256 GB memory options.
