Whatsapp For iphone To Get Voice-Calling

Tuesday, September 16, 2014 WhatsApp for iPhone has brought another add-on feature for its users. As mentioned by WhatsApp CEO Jan Kuom, back in February, the app is set to introduce voice calling for Android and iOS versions first, followed by Blackberry. The wait seems to be over now. Whatsapp for iPhone will soon come with a voice-calling update.

As spotted by few sources, a popup option seeking user’s permission to use the microphone appears, hinting about the voice-calling feature to hit the app at the earliest. This pop up feature will only appear if the users have not allowed WhatsApp access to the microphone.

To find it out, go to settings> Privacy > Microphone > WhatsApp > flip the slider to Off. The last update added several features like improved location sharing and fast camera access. The world’s most popular messaging app, Whatsapp has over 600 million active users around the world. With its evolution, SMS and voice message using telecom services have almost diminished. Voice-calling could be next on list, further hitting on to the revenue of telecom operators.
