Opera 24 Launched With Tab Preview Feature

Wednesday, September 03, 2014 On Tuesday, the latest version of Opera browser has been announced for Linux, Mac and Windows and it's called Opera 24. The new version offers tab preview feature and 1,000 more extensions will also be supported in this version.

Opera 24 is introducing tab previews which are aimed at helping users to figure out what a tab contains by just moving your mouse over it. It also provides an inside preview of the opened tab which looks like a snapshot of the site. In Windows, Opera 24 is able to utilise the higher resolution which is called HiDPI and it comprises more pixels. Opera says that this improvement means the interface will look 'crystal clear' with rounded corners.

Windows users of Opera 24 will also be allowed to choose a background for private browsing. The company said in a blog post, "Private browsing ensures that your Internet history and activity are removed as soon as you close all private windows. We've made private windows more distinct from normal windows by changing their background color on Windows.”

In June, Opera Mini browser for iOS devices was updated as a revamped UI was brought in along with a range of new features. The updated version was completely compatible with iOS 7 style and Opera Mini 8.0.0 also featured an in-built QE code reader for scanning and sharing QR codes from the browser only. The updated app also features three new compression modes for data saving and 90 per cent data savings with compression is possible in this app.
